The Spanish Red Cross of #Yecla organized a visit to the Honey Cutting Fair of #Ayora last Sunday, October 14 where the elderly users and volunteers of the Healthy Aging Promotion Project: "Constant Health" were able to learn about the benefits for the health of this natural food and the important work of bees in the balance of the ecosystem and biodiversity.
During this activity, the users made "The Red Thread Route", a guided healthy route where they learned the history of the town and its tradition in beekeeping.
Then they attended a live demonstration of the first cut of the honey, an activity that aroused great interest on the part of the participants to end with a lunch of coexistence in the Home of the Retiree.
In the afternoon session, the attendees enjoyed visiting the numerous stands where they could taste the different types of honey and its properties.
The project Healthy Aging Promotion: "Constant Health" is funded by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Region of Murcia, charged to the tax allocation of Personal Income Tax (IRPF) through the X Solidaria and its purpose is to help older people develop their potential for physical, social and psychological well-being throughout their life cycle and participate in society according to their needs, desires and abilities.
