The Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, Javier Celdrán, and the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, today gave details of the 58th edition of the Furniture Fair of Yecla, whose date of celebration has changed to next week, from May 7 to 10.
It is expected to be a record edition, since all available space has been used up and has 120 exhibitors.
Celdrán said that "the Region of Murcia, and more specifically Yecla, is known and recognized for the quality and design of its furniture and we have started the year with very good prospects, in fact, according to the latest official data for January and February this year, the companies of the region have sold abroad furniture for a value of 12.7 million euros, compared to 11.48 million euros for the same period in 2018. This is a rise of 10.63 percent "
To consolidate this trend, the Fair hosts the 'International Meeting of the Furniture', organized by the Institute of Development and the employers of furniture (Arema), which have already confirmed their attendance 30 foreign companies.
In particular, importers, furniture distributors, chain stores with import capacity, commercial agents and prescribers from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Romania, Denmark and Taiwan will participate.
To this international representation is added the presence of companies from Portugal, the guest country in this edition and one of the main markets for furniture companies in the Region.
It is expected that during the Fair more than 350 interviews and visits will be made between the exhibiting companies and buyers and importers from other countries.
