The PP has presented an increase in several of the rates of public nursery schools in Yecla for the 2020/2021 academic year for approval by the ordinary Plenary of the month of October.
In this sense, the popular intend to apply a rise of 39.72% in continuous working hours that affects the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., costing 81, € 92 to € 114.46.
Likewise, they also want to approve a 6.45% rise to full working hours from 8:45 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. and from 2:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., costing this one from € 134.41 to € 143.08.
The rest of the rates would remain frozen, except for extended working hours that fall by only € 3.23.
The right-wing party is disguising these rises as a restructuring of prices for the sake of greater proportionality among all options.
Thus, this proportionality is applied by raising prices instead of making a downward adjustment, a completely viable possibility.
However, in practice the climb will only mean a greater burden for the pockets of families who need to use the affected schedules.
From IU-Verdes we oppose these increases, being the only party we voted against the proposal made by the PP in the Information Committee of the Treasury made on Thursday, October 3, in which the matter was discussed before the Plenary.
Thus, from Izquierda Unida we believe that public education has to be free at all levels, from nursery school to university.
Therefore, we will oppose all measures that are aimed at making education more expensive and making it difficult for working people to access it.
Likewise, we will carry out and support all initiatives aimed at achieving a free, quality public education.
