The project, 'Yecla Rate', is financed 70 percent by the EU

The City Council yesterday presented the neighbors the future redevelopment of the southeast side of Cerro del Castillo.

The project, known as "Yecla Rate ', aims to improve urban and landscape of the area and its social and economic recovery.

"It is perhaps the local investment project more ambitious and original than ever existed in the city of Yecla.

Defined so yesterday Guadalupe St., Councillor of Finance Finance, Employment and New Technologies, through which the Municipal Government Team has promoted this initiative with the consensus of all municipal groups.

The plan is divided into four main activities: the construction of a bioclimatic building and multipurpose architectural landmark, the renovation of the southern slope of Cerro del Castillo, the recovery of the Cerro de La Molineta, and arrangement of Jose Abad Walk Sola (known as the Paseo del Cementerio).

Overall the remodeling is complete more than 18 hectares of land, an area equivalent to about 20 football fields.

The work, budgeted at about 4.9 million euros, is financed 70 percent by the European Union (EU) through FEDER funds.

The remaining 30 percent is borne by the City Council.

The proceedings of the multipurpose building and the South Slope will run according to the draft and Carrasco Architects Bordallo, Málaga firm won the design competition failed several weeks ago for this purpose.

Currently working on the wording of the corresponding technical projects.

The jury also awarded the next two most prominent candidates, and gave three other entries among the 21 works accepted in the competition from Andalucia, Madrid, Valencia and Murcia.

In yesterday's ceremony, which took place from 19.30 am in the Municipal Auditorium were given the awards, designed especially for this contest.

As for the two remaining performances, which will be held in the Cerro de La Molineta and Jose Abad Walk Alone, are in tendering period (until 24 June).

In these spaces is to build a gazebo in the city and put areas for recreational activities, festivals and cultural.

After the awards ceremony, yesterday also opened an exhibition of the papers presented at that competition of ideas, which has been installed in the underground room of the Municipal Auditorium until February 30.
