On Friday 20 May, it has carried out, the Quality Contest wine DOP Yecla San Isidro 2016, being the ninth edition of the same, in which the Protected Designation of Origin Yecla tests the quality of its wines , to select those elaborations that are most important to this organization always bet Contest incorporate prestigious professionals who contribute their wisdom and experience tasting panel, journalists, oenologists and sommeliers.

The tasting was held at the headquarters of the Protected Designation of Origin Yecla and has been directed by D. Adrian Martinez Cutillas.

The competition is organized by the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Yecla and sponsored by the City of Yecla and is officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

The event was carried out with the blind tasting procedure, thereby ensuring the impartiality and anonymity of the wines under consideration.

Depending on the grades obtained, three types of awards, Awards San Isidro 2016 "gold", "silver" and "bronze" are awarded to each of the six categories in which they are classified wines: white, pink, red woodfree 2014 and 2015 harvests, red timber harvests 2014 and 2015 red wood harvest 2013 and earlier and sweet wines.

The proclamation of winners and awards ceremony was held at a gala dinner offered in the evening of the same day 20 in Yecla Barahonda restaurant, with assistance from regional and local political representatives and practically all the wine sector of the PDO Yecla.

The wines tasted in the "IX Competition Yecla Wines San Isidro 2016" have had an excellent level further consolidating the foundations of this small Designation of Origin to achieve maximum national and international projection.
