Yecla City Council launches campaign "Opportunities" (26/10/2016)

It is a communication campaign that aims to raise awareness among citizens of the municipality of the importance of recycling household packaging care of the environment and, in particular, natural environments of use and enjoyment for all.

Councilman Jorge Ortuño communication and Mario Nohales director of the company selected to carry out the campaign Ecoembes, presented "Opportunities" 2016 is a communication campaign that aims to raise awareness among citizens of the municipality of the importance of recycling household packaging care of the environment and, in particular, natural environments of use and enjoyment for all.

Ecoembes is the nonprofit organization that manages the recovery and recycling of plastic containers, cans and briks (yellow container) and cartons and paper (blue container) throughout Spain.

These communication campaigns, have been making in our city in recent years, which is very positive since they have fostered among citizens the importance of their role in the recycling of waste, as can be seen in the progressive increase in kilos deposited in the respective containers.

You want to convey that recycling goes beyond the gesture of waste deposited in the correct container, it is an opportunity to preserve our nearest surrounding environment.

Will last three months, October to December.

Directed by the company yeclana PDF Study, which has been selected among the proposals submitted to the contest.

It will work with advertisements on local television and in the press, wedges, muppings, and street marketing among others.

They are also planned several events where citizens will have an active participation.

Yeclanos continue to maintain high awareness on waste removal.

In the first half of 2016 according to the data available to the Department of Public Services, have been collected in Yecla, a total of 746,970 kilos of waste, including packaging containers, cardboard, paper and glass.

This means that we have recovered an average of 21.94 kilos of waste per inhabitant.

Specifically, through the collection of light packaging in Yecla they have recovered 5.97 kilos of waste per inhabitant, from January to June.

In regard to paper and cardboard, an average of 6.20 kilos per inhabitant was collected, while each inhabitant has recovered an average of 9.76 kilos of glass, in the same period.

The campaign budget amounts to 7,828 euros and is funded entirely by Ecoembes, within the agreement with this entity.
