The Municipal Socialist Group requests full compliance with the Decree for the elimination of architectural barriers (10/11/2017)

The Socialists remind that on December 4 the deadline to comply with Legislative Royal Decree 1/2013, of November 29, expires, so that all public buildings and their surroundings are fully accessible to people with disabilities

The Municipal Socialist Group has presented a requirement to the municipal government team to remember the problems that are not guaranteed universal accessibility, because it violates the rights and freedoms of people with disabilities by not allowing them to have an independent life.

In this sense, the socialist councilman Pepe Martínez has influenced the compliance of both Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013, of November 29, so that all public buildings and their surroundings, are fully accessible to people with disabilities before the next 4 December, as well as the Proposition approved unanimously by the entire municipal corporation of the Municipality of Yecla in September 2015 in order to promote the progressive elimination of architectural barriers in public buildings.

For this reason, Martinez asks for the greatest speed to complete the different deficiencies that still exist in different venues and municipal buildings and thus fulfill the political commitments acquired.

Likewise, he has asked for more action in adapting the curbs of the sidewalks to make them completely accessible.

Especially affects the cases in which you access a sidewalk but in the next corner, not being accessible, you can not return to the road.

As examples, the intersection that there is in the Avda. De la Paz, with the Historian Street Cosme Gil, at the height of No. 36 or, the crossing between Colon Street and Carlos III.

Martínez demands that these curbs be adapted and all those that are not adapted to make them accessible to all people, in order that any person can transit through the streets of Yecla, under equal conditions.

Analysis of the campaign against animal excrement on public roads

The socialist councilors are receiving many complaints regarding the indiscriminate excrement of dogs on numerous pavements sidewalks and in recidivist urine on facades, corners, etc.

of our streets.

Given this, the Socialists again insist on this issue to analyze the actions and move forward on measures for the owners of animals that do not comply with the civic cleaning of excrement.

For the spokesperson Asun Molina, awareness campaigns are non-existent and you can not put a police to each citizen who goes to walk your pet, more than 5000 in Yecla, but remember that in January last year, the Government Team, He promised to take measures and commission a company to prepare a census with blood samples of each dog to end the lack of awareness of the owners when collecting excrement.

An initiative is being carried out in some municipalities of our country with very good results.

For this reason, Molina has asked for information on the steps being taken by the Government Team in this regard, requests that more awareness campaigns be carried out, as well as amending the Municipal Ordinance so that the obligation is established. of the identification analysis of the dogs and that a census be made with blood samples of each dog to be able to identify and sanction the owners who do not collect the excrements.
