After having a meeting with the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, Inmaculada García has submitted the resignation of all the positions he had as a member of the municipal corporation

After the events that took place in the early hours of Sunday, February 4, in which the councilor of Tourism, Employment and Training of the town council of Yecla, Inmaculada García, was involved, the councilor understood the seriousness that these supposed for the development of his work as public office and has submitted his resignation as mayor of the municipality of Yecla.

"After knowing the facts last week and after the meeting I had with her this morning, Inmaculada understood that there was no other way out," said Marcos Ortuño, who stressed that "it is painful to have to take this type of decisions but I think she has been right.

Being a public servant entails an exemplary behavior, a discipline and a delivery that is not easy to carry at some moments ".

"We know that the situation is very hard, I know that I am not talking about a position but about a person who has family and friends who are very affected by this circumstance, and that is why the decision has not been taken hot.

Immaculate has had a weekend to ponder his decision and I think that in the end he has done the right thing, after having apologized publicly and privately to all involved, us and his family, "said Marcos Ortuño.

Finally the mayor of Yecla has declared that "I recognize his courage in making this decision and I want to thank Immaculate for the work done in the town hall during these last two years within the area of ​​tourism and employment.

I only hope that once Immaculada has closed this stage, she can resume her life sheltered by her friends and family. "
