Marín highlights the work of the company yeclana Catlike in innovation and design to be present in over 45 countries (08/09/2010)

The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín, together with part of its management team and the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, today visited the company premises Catlike Sport Components to see his work in innovation and design and its internationalization strategy.

After meeting with the director of the company, former professional cyclist Jose Del Ramo, Marin said the work being done by the company as a benchmark in the manufacture of equipment for cycling and is present in over 45 countries.

"Catlike is a company known for its ability to innovate and provide value-added products that enable its internationalization and to be present throughout the world. In fact, right now are expanding to America and Australia, two markets where everything about the world of cycling and other sports that use the bicycle have a big expansion as mountain biking or triathlon, "said Marin.

Catlike designs and work on new materials and technology for the manufacture of helmets, shoes, socks or glasses for cycling have made a reference yeclana brand that competes with major international brands, well regarded for the home front Asian makers a few years ago permeating the market.

For this international expansion, the firm has had the support of incentives that the Ministry, through the Institute of Development, provides the regional business in Trade Promotion Plan, coordinated with chambers of commerce.

Also, the company has also benefited in its expansion with a total investment of over half a million euros in the last two years, and other programs to support industrial competitiveness and financing offered by the regional government.

Finally, the counselor Marin stressed the Catlike promotion policy based on the quality of their products using top-level athletes and sponsorship of professional cycling teams as Cervelo Test Team, Euskaltel Euskadi, Xacobeo Gaul or Heraklkion-Murcia.
