The initiative of the PSOE in Yecla allow Ratchet Bridge to remain in its current location (14/10/2010)

Given the claims of the PP in re-locating the bridge on the roundabout Chicharra road Villena, Yecla the PSOE again proposed to service in its current location yeclanos continuing the existing bike path.

The railway bridge of the mythical 'Buzzer' will remain in its historic location in the first kilometer of the road de Villena, allowing to return to service the yeclanos to be used as a bridge and continuing the existing bike path.

Thus, one of the most iconic buildings of our city will be restored respecting its historic site and giving a new use for cyclists and walkers.

This old railroad bridge was built before 1880, since it was this year when the line went into operation VAY, which circulated old Ratchet train with steam engines.

PP's initial proposal was to move the bridge to the roundabout on the road Villena.

In the plenary session on March 2, 2009, the Socialist spokesman Antonio Villaescusa proposed Soriano respect their historic site while requesting that the bridge remembered 'Ratchet' could return to service the yeclanos.

The PSOE wants Yecla welcomed this initiative of the council that has been collected by the government team and remember the old bridge used narrow gauge railway which left just nine pillars that supported it.
