Furniture Fair Yecla, fifty years of tradition (14/12/2010)

The exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of Yecla Furniture Fair, which opened on 23 November by the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marin, will be open until the end of the year.

The exhibition is divided into two distinct parts.

In the first of which the visitor can make a visual journey through the history of Yecla Furniture Fair and its growth and maturation over the years.

At the beginning of the route is a special impact in the inaugural tournament in 1961 and its subsequent formal conclusion and after 1962, thus to know the tremendous effort and enthusiasm of those early and difficult and issues, and how the Yecla people turned squarely to the Fair.

Through photographs of the inauguration of the Fair for each of the 50 editions and samples of advertising and business yeclanas sketches appeared in the official catalog of the exhibition is intended to show visitors the evolution of trends, the development of production processes and constant innovation in the design of furniture and upholstery.

Obviously, the development of the Fair has always been marked by economic conditions, social policy and at any given time, so that exposure wanted contextualize each of the issues through small ephemera that highlight the most significant events of each year.

Similarly, it also exhibits all the posters announcing that the fair has been taking in each of his fifty editions, and had not been shown publicly in full to date.

To end this first part of the exhibition, the show and reliving the past two decades, where the opening of new markets through exports and the promotion of internationalization have been central.

In the second part of the exhibition, the exhibition also includes about a hundred pieces of classic furniture made by companies all yeclanas and temporarily borrowed by individuals, the oldest being a headboard wood carving dating 1909 and the most modern leather sofa made in the late 80's.

It is precisely through this selection of furniture, which is intended to provide a visual journey through the history of the furniture industry, through which you can see the evolution of trends over the years and how it has always been Yecla synonymous with quality, tradition and experience.
