On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March will be held open days for all citizens who wish to visit this landmark building restored to the heritage of the town of Yecla
The President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, inaugurated the rehabilitation of the Primitive casino Yecla as musical and cultural center.
Has been accompanied by the Mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, the Director of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta Germain, and members of the Municipal Corporation, in addition to regional authorities and representatives of cultural associations of the city.
These works imply, the mayor explained, "the greatest performance in the cultural and historical heritage of Yecla in recent decades."
Citizens can see first hand the result of the recovery of this landmark building, declared a Cultural, during the open days will take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March.
This restoration project arose from the need to rehabilitate a building dating from the nineteenth century of great value to the heritage of the town of Yecla, which showed a progressive deterioration over time and prolonged neglect.
According to the needs presented to the School of Music seeks to implement in this construction, the building has, on the ground floor, lobby, reception area and concierge, library music library, cafeteria, executive offices, secretary staff room.
In its first three floors, distributed around a central courtyard, have built 14 classrooms for tutoring, 2 chamber music classrooms, a rehearsal for choir and orchestra, 8 study rooms, 7 non-instrumental classrooms and a recording studio.
On the first floor is a hall with 150 seats, which can be used as a rehearsal room.
The project budget amounted to nearly three million euros.
The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport has provided one million euros, as the Ministry of the Presidency, while the Consistory yeclano has financed the remaining amount of remodeling.
The rehabilitation of the original Casino Building, which now serve as a center of music education has been carried out according to current regulations for artistic education.
Star 120-year history of Yecla
The Casino Primitivo de Yecla in 1888, when it was designed by the architect Justo Millán.
In the first third of the twentieth century became one of the centers and cultural highlights of the municipality.
After the Civil War was Union headquarters Vertical CNS and the Falange and in the early years of democracy, was closed because it had been ruined.
The acquisition of property by the City of Yecla the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, opened the door to the restoration of the building, which is considered one of the most emblematic of the town of Yecla.
Yecla Mayor said that the rehabilitation which opens today "is a special performance on one of the main values of the local architecture, more so for its central location within the urban fabric as its reference in the memory historic inhabitants of Yecla
Juan Miguel Benedito added that "with this performance, the yeclanos will enjoy this new flagship property, recovering a key part of its cultural and historical heritage."
