After the first phase of the largest redevelopment in the history of the town of Yecla (06/06/2011)

Within three months they will be ready the viewpoint of the Molineta and different areas for recreational activities, festivals and cultural annexed

The first performance of the major refurbishment of the history of the town of Yecla is already completed.

Since Friday is open the new Cemetery Walk (Paseo del Abad José Sola), where vehicles can now travel on its left bank towards the center.

On the right bank has opened up a very limited speed (10 mph) to combine their use mainly pedestrian access to the association Giner de los Rios, the cemetery and, in general, this area of ​​entertainment.

The main access to this large area will remain, therefore, the San Fernando street, as has been happening since the work began.

The Cemetery Walk, whose execution was budgeted at one million euros, has now a new appearance along its length approximately mile from the Garden of the Fountain to the junction with the Ronda Sur.

Overall, the project "Yecla Rate 'is designed to improve urban and landscape of the southeast side of Cerro del Castillo and its social and economic recovery.

"It is perhaps the local investment project more ambitious and original than ever existed in the city of Yecla," has said from the Municipal Government Team, through which this initiative has been promoted to the consensus of all local groups .

The full plan to be divided into four main activities: the construction of a bioclimatic building and multipurpose architectural landmark, the renovation of the southern slope of Cerro del Castillo, the recovery of the Cerro de La Molineta, which are currently building a gazebo City and being put in different areas for recreational activities, festivals and cultural (all ready in about three months), and the arrangement of Paseo del Abad Jose Sola, which is the action that has just ended.

In total, the remodeling affects more than 18 hectares of land, an area equivalent to about 20 football fields.

The works of the entire project, budgeted at about 4.9 million euros, is financed 70 percent by the European Union (EU) through FEDER funds.

The remaining 30 percent is borne by the City Council.
