The People's Party presented a motion against the abolition of planting rights vineyard (26/10/2011)

If you delete the planting rights, it may cause a fall in grape prices affecting one of the most important economic sectors of Yecla.

The Regional Assembly has unanimously approved a motion filed this morning by the parliamentary group, asking the National Government to pursue all possible actions to prevent the liberalization of vineyards.

The Municipal People has submitted a proposal to the plenary of the Municipal Corporation against the abolition of planting rights vineyard planned and agreed by the Ministers of Agriculture of the European Union to reform the CMO in wine, in establishing the December 31, 2015 the planting rights system will be deleted.

This proposal supports the demonstrations undertaken since UPA agricultural associations, ASAJA, COAG and Agra-food cooperatives and self-Spanish Conference of Regulatory Boards Vitivinícolas

The proposal states that "the establishment of rights for vineyard planting has led to control of wine production, adapting to the demands of the market, getting through the various designations of origin, product quality has kept the price of grapes in the market "

It is therefore considered that the absence of this limitation could bring down the price of grapes, as in other fruits such as olives, causing the disappearance of small farms

It is recalled that in our county agricultural fabric is configured by small and medium-sized farms, making a business more sustainable with the environment, natural resource use and conservation of traditional landscape of our term.

The agricultural sector is the second economic activity of Yecla and the wine sector can be an economic engine to help overcome the current crisis.

For this reason the government team is promoting and supporting projects such as Yecla Wine Routes, the Wine Quality Contest and all actions and possible promotions.

The Regional Assembly has unanimously approved a motion filed this morning by the parliamentary group, asking the National Government to pursue all possible actions to prevent the liberalization of vineyards.

The session featured the Agriculture Councilman Hall of Yecla, Jesús García Verdú.
