Yecla Tour of the Special Committee on Disability of the Regional Assembly (25/11/2013)

The Special Committee on Disability of the Regional Assembly today visit Yecla, Center for Child Development and Early Care and Day Centre AMPY.

Formerly they were received at City Hall by the Mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño who recalled that "the actions in social policy in Yecla are marked by the creation and maintenance of services, programs and benefits of various kinds, which have been consolidating and growing with the passage of time. "

Specifically with regard to disability, the Mayor explained that from the Center for Social Services themselves to resources and services for people with disabilities files are processed, and the approach of Yecla services provided, as with the valuation disability, avoiding displacement "

Moreover, the first municipal authority recalled that the City "serves as a regular home help, respite care, or meals on wheels"

He also highlighted the great work being done by different social organizations that work to care for the disabled, with which it has signed agreements, as adfy or receive specific subsidies as with AMPY or Yecla no limits

Finally he stressed the actions that the City has been doing for over 20 years in the field of early care through the Child Development Center and Early Warning, one of the pioneers in the Region of Murcia, currently working in coordination with the network health services and schools nursery and primary of our city

This center serves children / as 0-6 years of age who have some type of physical, mental, sensory and / or disability and their families as well as children who for various reasons have a higher risk of suffering.

Last year attended a total of 155 children (up to September this year, 126 have attended).

It has a team of five professionals composed of pedagogues, therapists and speech therapists.

Develop targeted treatments, conduct monitoring programs.

New are primary prevention programs, parenting groups for single mothers, early intervention programs in aquatic and workshops promoting positive stimulation and education for children in the early years
