The Community prepares fifty measures to promote internationalization, funding and innovation in the furniture sector (21/09/2015)

The president of the Community, confirms that the regional government will continue to support the furniture sector "to continue creating jobs and to remain strong beyond our borders"

It stresses that increasing exports and reducing unemployment "are show business and industrial muscle of a city and a competitive sector that creates jobs"

Furniture companies exported 32.4 percent more than in 2014 and 4 per cent of all furniture exporting country is Yecla

The president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, said today that the regional government will continue to support the furniture industry yeclana with the launch of fifty measures "to strengthen and promote internationalization, funding and innovation ".

The regional chief executive was speaking at the inauguration of the 54th edition of the Yecla Furniture Fair, where he was accompanied by the mayor, Mark Ortuño, and the director of this event, Inmaculada Hernandez.

This plan, which will seek the consensus of the furniture business, will improve the sector's productivity and through different initiatives and new supports, consolidating the recovery experience and competitiveness.

"Yecla is quality in this booming industry is recovering with great success," said the president, who recalled that this sector closed 2014 with 32 percent of exports last year, also 4 percent of all the furniture exporting country is Yecla and in this sector, according to the president, "has managed to reduce unemployment to 15 percent in a year," he said.

The export trend has continued during the first months of 2015, increasing sales of furniture by 9.4 percent between January and April sector, representing a turnover of 22 million euros.

Commitment to internationalization

Murcia manufacturers are betting on a greater presence in international markets, increasing exports to France, UK, Portugal and Italy.

In its commitment to internationalization, Yecla Furniture Fair is working with the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia, which has arranged meetings with business delegations from 13 countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Austria, France, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, Russia, Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Peru.

New in this edition

The Yecla Furniture Fair has this year with a total of 130 exhibitors spread over an area of ​​17,000 square meters and come from Brazil, Portugal and Spain, mainly in the Region of Murcia and the provinces of Valencia, Alicante, Barcelona , Albacete, Ciudad Real, Toledo, Cadiz, Cordoba and Madrid.

New this year has presented the specialized space 'Yecla Contract', where manufacturers display their range of outdoor furniture, bedroom, lighting, textiles, decoration and rest, among others.

In addition, the exhibition has extended its offer with a 'Showcase Premium' aimed at the corporate and institutional client because prescribers who are responsible for making purchases in the so-called 'industry contract'.

Thanks to this space, the fair has attracted hoteliers, decoration and interior design studios, freelancers, architects and specialized in the design of comprehensive research projects with representatives from Portugal, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic.

The fair also continues to offer home furnishings for the traditional customer.
