The road works Yecla-Villena, ending in January, congestion of access to industrial sites (23/09/2008)

The Minister of Works, Housing and Transport, José Ballesta, visited this morning with the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, the refurbishment of the C-3314, passing for Yecla, due to end next month January.

The works of the C-3314, ranging from Caravaca de la Cruz Yecla Villena, have a budget allocation of EUR 3,724,344.

The Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, has financed 80.67 percent of the action, while the city of Yecla has contributed 19.33 per cent.

Councilor José Ballesta stressed that "this action will relieve the road traffic at peak times and out to the various industrial estates in the area, ensuring road safety for more than 8,000 drivers traveling daily by journey. "

Two new bike lanes in the C-3223

Moreover, the Minister José Ballesta said that in the first half of 2009 will begin the renovation and improvement of the C-3223, Almansa in Murcia, which will run in a mile, passing through Yecla, responding to a request that the City made to the Directorate General for Transport and Highways.

The performance, in which the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transportation will invest 404,698 euros, is expanding the current road to seven meters (3.5 meters for each track), so that the traffic of heavy vehicles this route, amounting to 122 per day are performed under the best conditions of safety for them as for light vehicles.

The project also includes two separate bicycle lanes with a width of two meters on both sides of the road, which will allow users of this route make use of the bicycle can move under maximum security conditions.

The bike lanes will be separated at 0.5 meters from the road, keeping the axis of the same, except in the section in which are six elms, where the axis will move 1.5 meters, in order to meet six elms protected are located in the margin of the current track.

With this, the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport remains committed to respect for the environment, ensuring the permanence of these elms in good conditions and promoting bike lanes as a safe alternative for sustainable mobility in the Region of Murcia.
