The delegate of the Government and the Mayor of Yecla inaugurate several works of E Plan in Place (03/02/2010)

Yecla receives 9.8 million euros in two years through funds from the Government of Spain

The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito Rodriguez, inaugurated this morning a number of actions undertaken in this area with funding from the Local Investment Fund, such as urbanization of the avenues of peace, Cordoba and Santa Marta street, and the Camino Real.

Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the City of Yecla submitted for funding under Plan E, a total of 7 projects for an amount of 5,536,252 euros, which have generated 292 jobs, of which 189 are newly created and 103 of persons within enterprises.

First, urbanization has opened the avenue of peace that has cost 2,966,725 euros and has created 98 jobs.

The works have included the expansion of the platform for a roadway with two lanes, installation of double-arm street lamps in the central reservation and construction of parking facilities in line on both sides.

It has also built a bicycle path made into slurry.

The works have also renovated the water supply and sanitation, telecommunications infrastructure, landscaping with new trees and installing new street furniture and signs.

Avenida Cordoba and Santa Marta Calle

Later, have turned to Cordoba Avenue and Calle Santa Marta in which it has carried out another performance entirely funded by the State Fund for an amount of 803,890 euros and the creation of 62 jobs.

In this case, the works have been a considerable improvement to this entry Yecla from Almansa, increasing the width of sidewalks, new trees, the pedestrian areas of the central island with the installation of playground and street furniture and the installation of a new street lighting and road pavements roundabout.

They also visited the activities of development carried out with state funding in the Camino Real between Caudete Street and San Roque.

The investment was EUR 387,743 and created 48 new jobs.

González Tovar said that "the work of the State Fund are meeting the primary objective of this, job creation, but also are helping to improve infrastructure and facilities of the municipality."

He also underlined that "the City of Yecla has had full autonomy to present the project and chose the actions which it deems most necessary."

The delegate also informed that the new State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability to be invested in 2010, will involve a further economic boost for the town of Yecla of 3,769,595 euros.

"Overall, has clarified the Government Delegate-Yecla Spain Government receives about 10 million euros in two years: the largest investment made directly in Yecla by any government in such a short time."

Visit the new roundabout between the N-344 and North Round

Finally, the Government Delegate and the Mayor of Yecla have visited the works already completed have been carried out for the construction of a new round between the N-344, Caudete direction, and the northern bypass.

The new roundabout serving the Furniture Fair, the Street Furniture and the future extension of the North Ring Road towards Villena.

The works, which involved an amount of EUR 774,207 has been funded by the Ministry of Development, under Grant signed the Convention of Cession of the Old Crossing of Yecla.
