The Community will invest one million euros in the restoration of habitats in the Sierra de Salinas in 2010-2012 (02/03/2010)

The Ministry of Agriculture and Water will invest one million euros in the restoration of habitats in the Sierra de Salinas, as well as the adequacy of the Forest House, the Hall of Nature and Forest seal during the period 2010-2012, as Yecla today said the director general of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernández.

This space has been declared a Protected Landscape and Site of Community Importance (SCI), so that important natural features.

Among the actions to include waterproofing and suitability for wildlife settling ponds dikes.

Fernandez said at a press conference the "rich natural environment of this town," which also saw the aforementioned features and LIC Regional Park 'Sierra del Carche', and other areas belonging to the Natura 2000 network, such as LIC 'Sierra the Serral 'and' Sierra del Buey ", and the Special Protection Area (SPA) 'Yecla Steppes', which is also Area Wildlife Protection.

It also has 18 micro flora reserves, with several hills public utility operated by the Community and the City, and with mountains consortium.

Because of high natural value to the municipality, the Directorate General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity invested in the past three years more than 600,000 euros in various actions, such as the installation of underground power lines in the plains, the conditioning road infrastructure in the Sierra de Salinas and the drafting of a habitat restoration project in this same range.
