Izquierda Unida-Verdes de Yecla has opened the deadline to submit nominations to the head of the list for the upcoming 2019 local elections. Candidates will collect endorsements between June 1 and 12 and, in cases where there are more than a list, they will campaign until the end of June.
The voting, which will be both face-to-face and telematic, will conclude on July 1.
The applications submitted need between 5 and 10% guarantees.
The candidate who leaves will be the one who will lead the list or, in case of possibility of confluence with other political formations, the candidate to lead it.
With this celebration of primaries, we reaffirm our commitment to the democratic processes of selection of candidacies, either through consensus in our assemblies, or through primaries open to the participation of militants and sympathizers.
Finally, it should be noted that our internal primaries will not be an obstacle to holding joint primaries with candidacies from other organizations and independent activists with whom we must build a winning alternative, both regionally and locally, to the devastation caused by neoliberalism in our Region.
For the moment, Alberto Martínez is the first candidate who has presented the necessary guarantees to head the lists in the next local elections.
Alberto is a worker in the telecommunications sector, he is 29 years old, he has participated in numerous local social movements in recent years, he has been politically trained since he was very young in the Communist Youth, where he held different regional positions for years, and is the current Local Coordinator of IU-Verdes de Yecla.
