Specifically, as reported by ANIDA, this raft is located in Fuente del Pinar, in an area bordering a cryptohumedal and a few meters from the archaeological site.
If a few days ago we talked about how badly managed was the Department of Environment, today we echo a complaint from ANIDA in relation to the construction of an irrigation pond in the area of Fuente del Pinar.
This construction is next to a cryptohumedal with abundant freatophilic vegetation, also included in the Ecological Map of the municipality of Yecla.
This area is rated with a high environmental value.
Also, the excavation that has been carried out for this raft reaches the water table, so the water is surfacing.
Carrying out this work is putting at risk the hydric dynamics of this cryptohumedal and of the springs around, putting in turn this ecosystem in danger.
In addition, this supposes a shrinkage of the landscape quality of an exceptional place as much by its natural as cultural values.
In turn, these earth movements are at the limit of the space cataloged in the Municipal Archaeological Charter as Houses of the Fuente del Pinar, and about 300 meters from the Roman site in which appeared a winery dated between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD
For all this, we see more than necessary to support ANIDA to demand the immediate stoppage of this work, because it is seriously damaging a protected area of our environment, being on the edge of it.
Likewise, we ask the Mayor for all existing reports regarding this work.
Once again, from the Municipal Group of United Left-Greens we want to emphasize the need to protect our aquifers from the overexploitation they suffer, as we already presented in the different allegations to the General Plan of Urban Planning.
