The judgment of the Court of Murcia confirms what IU-Greens have denounced many times: the oncology service that was provided in Yecla was insufficient and did not provide the health coverage needed by Yeclans.
The incompetence and the bad doing of the Ministry of Health of the Popular Party government motivates the cancellation of the oncology consultation in the "Virgen del Castillo" hospital in Yecla and creates a labor conflict with the medical professionals.
The recent ruling of the Contentious-Administrative Court No. 8 of Murcia confirms what Izquierda Unida de Yecla has shown so many times: that the oncology service that was being provided in our hospital was absolutely insufficient and that it did not work to give the health coverage that Yeclans need and to which we are entitled, particularly in this case, cancer patients.
Because, as it is now affirmed in the resolution of that Court, the reality is that in Yecla hospital what is provided to these patients is a simple external consultation, to which physicians from Murcia move a few days determined per month , and that completely lacks the means of the specialty and with which the only thing that is achieved is to follow a method of organizing patients, who in the end will have to also travel to the hospital "Virgen de la Arrixaca" in Murcia.
This ruling has shown that currently the purpose for which the service was created is not fulfilled, which was to avoid displacements to patients in very difficult conditions, but that, in addition, an upset has been created in the medical professionals, who they have to move from their respective services in the hospital of the "Virgen de la Arrixaca" to Yecla, where they lack the means of their specialty, and can not develop their work in adequate conditions.
According to the acting judge replacing the administrative litigation court No. 8, this constitutes a substantial alteration of working conditions, which have not been regulated through collective bargaining.
What the Popular Party of Yecla presented at the time as a great achievement has meant only a minor advance in the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of cancer patients and Yecla, but that has not been managed according to the law and that will now disappear.
For Izquierda Unida de Yecla, the solution is the creation in our hospital of an authentic oncology unit, where, in addition to consulting, the necessary treatments are given to patients, under equal conditions to those that exist in Arrixaca, and which is equipped of all the means required by oncologists, guaranteeing equal access to public health for Yeclans.
And this has the obligation to demand it and to obtain it, the mayor of Yecla, before the Regional Government of his party and before the Murcian Health System and leave aside the conformism that he has shown up to this moment.
