The Bishop of Cartagena participated yesterday in the presentation of the restoration project of the parish church of Niño Jesús de Yecla, accompanying the parish priest, Asensio Morales, and the architect responsible for the work, Juan de Dios de la Hoz.

After studying the state in which the building is located, the architect assured that "it needs an external arrangement as soon as possible".
The work, with a budget of 516,000 euros, will consist of repairing the roofs with the restoration of roofs, according to the degree of deterioration of each of the areas, except for the dome that was already fixed beforehand.
The four facades that have been cracked with the passage of time will also be rehabilitated.
De la Hoz explained that with this restoration process "what is intended is to recover the temple in the most original way possible, using the same materials that were used in its construction".
The restoration works of the parish church of Niño Jesús de Yecla will begin in mid-December, as confirmed by the architect responsible for the work.
A work that needs parish collaboration
The parish of El Niño Jesus, is celebrating its second centenary this year.
For his parish priest, Asensio Morales, "a community that has its history, is also called to have its future.

Morales encourages parishioners and businessmen to collaborate financially "so that this work can be a reality."
