The councilman of Celebrations, Jesus Verdú, has presented to the King of the Carnival 2019. This is Pablo Reig Ferri, belonging to the peña 'El desfase' that he created three years ago.
The decision was made by lottery on Thursday, November 15 at a meeting attended by all the clubs of Carnival.
Of the eight candidates from five different clubs, six were women and two men.
On Friday, February 22, Pablo Reig will be appointed official representative of the Carnival celebrations and will be in charge of presiding over all his acts.
Verdú has conveyed his congratulations.
"I did not expect it," the graceful acknowledged.
"It has been a great joy for my family and my supporters, I hope to do my best," he said.
He has also been "very proud" for being the first Carnival King in the history of our city.
Pablo Reig has explained that since childhood he feels great fondness for the Carnival parties and that with this appointment he fulfills a dream.
