Last summer, the autonomous community passed a law by which it sought for itself the competence in the matter of de facto couples.
However, today still does not develop that law, so that the councils are now in a legal limbo.
For the information we have been able to collect, there are councils that are registering de facto couples, despite the legal uncertainty that this could mean, while others are asking couples to wait for the law to develop.
This legal vacuum hides a lack of competition that could imply the nullity of full rights of the inscriptions with what this implies in terms of non-recognition of rights to those registered.
In the specific case of our city council, these couples continue to be registered, following the guidelines of the municipal ordinance drawn up for this purpose.
It should be remembered that these records attest to the existence of a relationship of analogous conjugal affectivity with the legal derivations that this has in terms of recognition of rights.
Once the aforementioned regulation has been approved by the Murcian parliament, the regional government should have proceeded to its development by means of the Regulation contemplated in its transitory provisions and the constitution of the Registry of Couples of the CARM, with the integration of office and automatically of the registrations of de facto couples of the municipal registers in the Autonomous Register.
However, he has not done it yet.
From the Municipal Group of United Left-Greens we believe that it should be demanded from our City Council, that the Murcian executive proceed to the immediate development of the Law and we note that this delay may be due to various causes, and none of them worthy of any praise.
The first is that, regardless of any political or ideological consideration, we are faced with an absolutely inefficient regional government in the performance of its functions.
The second, this more ideological, is that the Register of Couples in Fact gives certainty and legal certainty to a more plural and inclusive model of personal relationships that moves away from the traditional model that is the only one that the Murcian right seems to bet on. .
And the third has to do with the insubordination of the Regional Government to implement the rules that come from the Regional Assembly in which it has no majority.
We also point to this last issue that very recently the Constitutional Court has disavowed the regional government of the PP for the non-application of the Regional Housing Law.
