The next 28th of Aprilla Symphonic Band of the Association of Friends of Music of Yecla will travel to the Valencian town of Cullera to participate in the 72nd edition of the National Contest of Bands of Music "Ciudad de Cullera".
This Contest is organized by the Concejalía de Actividades Musicales de Cullera and will take place in the Cullerense Municipal Auditorium.
In the morning, after the parade, which is scheduled at 11:00 am, will perform the Musical L'Artística Manisense de Manises (Valencia), directed by Bram Sniekers and the Union Musical Philharmonic Society of Agost (Alicante), under the baton of Manuel Mondéjar
In the afternoon, the parade will take place at 5:00 pm and then it will be the turn of the Friends of Music Association of Yecla, together with its director Ángel Hernández.
This year the obligatory work in this category isDragut el Pirata, from the Valencian composer Ferrer Ferrán.
The free work that Yela musicians will perform will be Glorious, a symphonic poem by Japanese composer Yasuhide Ito.
As a parade pasodoble, which also has a prize in this contest, the Banda de Yecla will perform Churumbelerías!

In addition, out of competition and while the jury is deliberating, you can listen to the two Cullera Music Bands: Musical Athenaeum Society and Santa Cecilia Instructional Music Society, which will close the contest in the Market Gardens.
The Association of Friends of Music of Yecla, as on other occasions, makes available to the public that wishes to accompany and support the Band in this unviaje musical event, which includes: bus, entrance and food for a donation of 25 euros.
The departure time will be at 11:30 am.
