In recent weeks Izquierda Unida has collected several neighborhood complaints arising from intensive agricultural holdings in the Hondo del Campo area.
On this occasion, the problem stems from the increase in the transit of large-tonnage trucks that circulate along the rural roads of that area and presumably through the municipality in general.
These trucks are dedicated to loading the product obtained on farms destined for intensive crops.
Therefore, as these types of farms increase, the traffic of this type of large tonnage vehicles increases.
The problem denounced by the roji-green party with its requirement is that these trucks run at high speed through rural roads of all kinds.
In this sense, it argues the training that have testimonials in which the possibility of non-compliance with the speed limits and the maximum permitted tonnage is reported.
Thus, they comment that these circumstances constitute a risk to the safety of people, but also cause damage to the integrity of the roads, since they are not prepared to withstand that type and intensity of traffic.
In this way, they indicate that unpaved roads are being affected, such as, among others, the Camino de Granada.
In addition, the most alarming occur in the aggravating fact that one of the affected roads is the Cañada Real de los Serranos, a cattle route protected by Law 3/1995 of Livestock Tracks.
The training details that Yecla has in force the "Ordinance regulating rural roads of the municipality of Yecla" which in its article 5 states that "In general, the transit of vehicles of more than 16 tons is prohibited on rural roads The circulation of these, in exceptional circumstances, must be authorized by the City Council, which may require the deposit of bail or bank guarantee in sufficient amount to guarantee the repair of the damages that may be caused by the transit of this type of vehicles. "
In addition, the General Traffic Regulation in force mandates in its article 48.f) that "On unpaved roads the maximum speed limit shall be 30 km / h".
However, some of the affected roads are even signposted with a speed limit of 20 km / h.
It is for all this, that the United Left-Green Municipal Group has requested Mr. Mayor the following:
1-That local police controls are carried out to verify that the trucks comply with all the requirements and permits established by the regulations for the transit of this type of vehicles on rural roads.
2-That the damage caused by the transit of these vehicles on rural roads is checked.
3-That this City Council notify the Civil Guard and / or the Administration to proceed with the events that are happening so that compliance with the maximum speed is controlled.
4-That they be provided, in writing, the list of disciplinary procedures opened by this City Council for breach in the year 2019 of article 5 of the "Ordinance regulating the rural roads of the municipality of Yecla."
5-That they be informed, in writing, of the inspection actions usually carried out by this City Council to verify that the aforementioned local regulations are not violated.
