The Department of Culture and Tourism and Wine Route of Yecla organize the Harvest Festival 2019 coinciding with the start of the grape harvesting campaign.
It will take place on September 7 and 8 and will begin on September 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Constitution Park with a staging of the grape tread and tasting of the first monastrell must of the year.
Then a Folklore Festival will take place with the performances of the choir and dance groups of Calzada de Calatrava (Castilla-La Mancha), Santomera (Murcia) and 'Francisco Salzillo' of Yecla, an association that collaborates in the organization of the Fiestas de la Vendimia 2019. From 19:30 hours you can taste wine, must and tapas.
On Sunday, September 8, the Basilica of La Purísima will host from 12:00 a mass sung by groups participating in the Folklore Festival.
Then there will be a parade to the Constitution Park, where the choir and dance groups of Calzada de Calatrava and Yecla will perform.
On this occasion you can taste various wines of our city.
The program is complemented on Sunday with a free guided tour of the old case plus tasting of Libricos.
It will begin at 10:30 am;

During the presentation of the Harvest Festival it has been revealed that the Nomination Gala of the Winemaker of the Year will be held on Sunday, September 29 at the Concha Segura Theater from 12:00 noon.
The recognition as Winemaker of the Year will fall to José Miguel López, music journalist and director of the Radio 3 Discópolis program. The presenter also broadcasts his program annually from Yecla during the celebration of the Jazz Festival.
The former president of the Yecla Wine Route, Juan Pedro Castaño, has announced that after the last elections in the entity, he will occupy the vice presidency.
The position of president will be held by Aurora Picó and that of secretary by Blanca García.
The Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Jesús Verdú, stressed that the Harvest Festival aims to enhance our culture, traditions and landscapes.
In addition, he thanked Juan Pedro Castaño for his work at the head of the Yecla Wine Route for ten years.
"It is a consolidated project that has boosted tourism in Yecla," he said.
