The Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, participated today in the IX Gala of Denomination of Wine Tourism at the Concha Segura Theater in Yecla where she received the distinction of Winemaker of the Year 2019 journalist José Miguel López in recognition of the dissemination and promotion that outside this population, and the Region of Murcia, has developed on the Yecla wine route.
Cristina Sánchez pointed out the regional government's commitment to wine tourism "because it is a revulsion for inland tourism and energizes the productive and social fabric of this municipality."
The Minister explained that the Yecla Wine Route has registered since the beginning of the year and until August a total of 3,890 visitors, 6.6 percent more than in the same period last year.
"We have to continue working to reinforce these tourist offers in the Region with initiatives such as the Wine Bus, which is going to meet its third edition" and will carry out its first outing on October 5 to complete the wine route of Jumilla and will arrive in Yecla on November 2.
