In style and free technique, the works will focus on the rural and urban landscapes of our city |
On Saturday, October 19, the National Outdoor Painting Contest 'City of Yecla' will be organized by the Department of Culture through the Municipal School of Fine Arts.
It will have two categories: adults, for people over 18, and youth, for boys between 12 and 17 years.
The bases of the contest can be consulted on the website yecla.es.
The theme of the works must be related to Yecla and its rural or urban landscapes, with style and technique being free until digital procedures are used.
Registration will take place at the Municipal School of Fine Arts (Ediculum of Cespin, Avenue de la Feria, 27) from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the same day of the event.
Participants will have until 5:00 p.m. to submit their proposals.
At 6:00 p.m. the jury's decision will be announced and the participating works will be exposed to the public, and they can be visited and acquired by the public.
Four prizes will be awarded in the adult category: first prize 1000 euros, sponsored by the mayor of Yecla;
second prize of 600 euros, for Barahonda wineries, third prize of 500 euros, for the Fama company, and fourth prize of 300 euros, for YeclaGrafic.
In addition, the first 60 registered will receive a gift courtesy of La Purísima wineries.
In the youth category, the three prizes will consist of material worth 100 euros, for La Galería, 75 euros, for Akarte, and 60 euros, delivered by the Municipal School of Fine Arts.
The Councilor for Culture, Jesus Verdú, stressed that a contest is being recovered that "makes visible the great cultural activity of Yecla and puts society in contact with artists on public roads", and has encouraged those interested to participate.
For its part, the director of the Municipal School of Fine Arts, Cristina Martínez, has set at 60 the minimum number of registered adults they hope to overcome.
