The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Luengo, visited our town this morning to hold a working meeting with the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño.

During the meeting, which took place in municipal offices, issues of importance to our locality were discussed.

'I have transmitted to the counselor the priorities that we have marked with regard to the issue of water,' said Marcos Ortuño, 'and they do not vary with respect to other meetings.

We have a clear objective that is that the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, which is the one that has the competences in this subject, supports our demands and intensifies the measures for the real control of the real volume that is being extracted from our aquifers from each well and that also the inspections for the detection of possible illegal wells be increased. '

Likewise and during this meeting the issue of the external contribution of water to our region has been discussed, something in which the mayor of Yecla has already committed to different parliamentarians so that this issue is addressed both in the regional parliamentary headquarters and in the Congress of the Deputies and that 'would mean guaranteeing the future and survival of our aquifers'.

On the other hand, the counselor, Antonio Then, has reported on the collaboration with the City Council of Yecla for the elaboration of the new guidelines of the rustic land in the municipality, something that on the other hand the mayor of Yecla has already claimed on different occasions and that It is the development of a plan for crops in the Yecla district and in the Altiplano region.
