The Association of Friends of Music of Yecla, reports that the composer and guitarist from Yecla, and teacher of our music school, Diego Corraliza Azorín has won the First Prize for composition at the prestigious Barcelona International Guitar Competition Miquel Llobet. This has been the first edition of the composition specialty, of the 17 that this renowned contest already has.
Composers of nine nationalities have entered the competition, who, in the words of the jury and the organization itself, have shown a very high level.
This is the second consecutive international award that Diego has achieved. Soon, and due to the exceptional circumstances of COVID19, instead of picking up the award in person, a streaming videoconference will be held in which the composer from Yeclano will chat with the organizers of the contest about the winning work and exchange opinions about the contest in general.
