The Councillor for Social Policy, Remedios Lajara, reported the events planned to mark the 25th anniversary of the commissioning of the Center for Child Development and Early Intervention of Yecla.
"A city center for comprehensive therapeutic care to children of 0-6 years, families and the environment. The main focus is to give an answer, as early as possible, children who have certain difficulties in developing or who are at risk of suffering "he remembered responsible for the municipal department.
In Child Development and Early Intervention Center currently offers services such as assessment and diagnosis, sensiomotriz stimulation, cognitive stimulation, physical therapy, counseling and family care, psychological and home care.
Remedios Lajara recalled "the coordinated work that has been maintained with other professionals who deal with child development. Since health officials, to nursery schools and kindergartens, playgrounds services with centers for children and primary, with teams counseling of the Ministry of Education and the Municipal Social Services Centre itself. "
Hope Coloma director of the Center Child Development and Early Intervention, explained that currently "is producing an increase in cases related to autism spectrum disorders and children at high risk for preterm birth. However the major syndromes are almost disappearing."
She also pointed out that in recent years "there has been a significant change. Initially I was raised exclusively as an early stimulation center where children were treated with a recognized disability. After other types of disorders were added and it was decided that the rating of disability does not was decisive for treatment. currently, this center of early stimulation has become a center of child development and early intervention "
Councillor stressed that "this center has been a pioneer in this area and is now a benchmark, thanks to the work of the professionals at the center since its inception to the present. It is important to have a stable workforce, composed of various professionals as psychologists, physiotherapists and speech therapists. we have been pioneers in early intervention in the workshops of music therapy, infant massage, and currently are giving workshops with assisted therapy dogs. This is a proposal for the PTA's center It is giving very good results, so it will be incorporated into the center's own program. "
In 1990 the center became operational with 29 children seen in the municipal nursery school.
Since 1999 it has specially adapted facilities themselves.
In 2015 they have attended a total of 160 children.
an average of 75-80 children are currently attending.
In these 25 years we have treated 1,362 children.
To celebrate this 25th anniversary is scheduled to hold an institutional event to honor and recognize the work of professionals who have been closely linked to early care from different health, education and social care areas, always with the AMPA center.
It will also carry out a day of living, which we want to invite former users of this center and their families.
Remedios Lajara reported that the center has an annual budget of 250,000 euros.
It is funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) at 163,000 euros and the City of Yecla in 62,000 euros.
