The president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Minister of Employment and Social Security, Fátima Báñez, today visited the Furniture Fair Yecla, where they handed over the prizes of the 21st edition of the International Industrial Design Furniture Murcia, organized by the Technological Center of Furniture and Wood (CETEM).
The regional chief executive said "Yecla has very good businessmen pulling this fair every year and are gaining the confidence of the markets."
"They have crossed the desert of a tremendous crisis and have managed to overcome, reinvent themselves and focus on quality and innovation to remain competitive," adding that this fair "is a reflection of that."
Regional furniture industry increased its exports by 25 percent in the first half of 2016. The main destination of the Region furniture is France, which accounts for 31 percent of total exports.
The region has become the ninth Spanish province exports more furniture with a sales volume last year reached 71 million euros.
