The naturalist association ANIDA in collaboration with the Department of Environment has organized a new edition of the Native Forest Reforestation Campaign that will take place on Sunday 9 October in the place "l Madroño"
This activity, which has been held three decades in our city, "aims to promote knowledge and respect for the environment of all participants to actively participate in its repopulation" as explained Pedro Romero, Councillor for the Environment
This time will be planted over 650 native plants in the place "El Madroño.", Namely the Monte Las Espernalas.
It is an old farm plot nestled in the mountains, municipally owned that good conditions for reintroduction of species such as mastic, juniper and oak, among others, for their adaptation to the area have high survival rates "according explained José Pujante, responsible for reforestation of ANIDA
The volunteers of this association are in charge of monitoring the evolution of this species planted.
In this sense, Pujante has indicated that this year survival rate, 74%, is lower than the plantations of 2014 (which reached 94%).
Explanations have to find them in the long drought that is occurring in the area in recent months.
Participants in this new reforestation campaign should concentrate on the Furniture Fair Sunday October 9, at 10 am.
The shift area Restocking will be in private vehicles.
The must-carry hoe and organizers are responsible for the water for the first watering of the plant.
The participants in the activity will receive as a gift a plant.
