The Department of Police, Traffic and Citizen Security has launched the program "Our Greater Insurance", aimed at the elderly.
The program is articulated in two lines of action, as explained by the Councilor for Police, Traffic and Citizen Security, Juan Miguel Zornoza.
On the one hand, training talks will be given by agents of the Civic Participation Unit of the Local Police of Yecla, where basic advice will be disseminated in the daily work and especially in actions that may be deceived as Bank transactions or in the daily purchase.
On the other hand will activate a system of alert through messages to the mobile phone, a pioneering action in the Region, as explained the councilman.
This will create a database of older people who want to join.
When there is a risk situation for them due to attempted scam or scam among the population, they will receive a message advising them so that they can take the necessary precautions.
According to Juan Miguel Zornoza, "older people are becoming more vulnerable to deception and scam, because their dependence generates insecurity and, at the moment, the new modalities of fraud are very sophisticated."
The program responds to the request of citizen groups in which they participate majors, like the Centers of Elderly People of Herratillas or of the IMAS in the street Rambla or of Promotion and Popular Culture of San Nicholas and the Purísima.
The councilman of security has recalled the importance of disseminating this program so that the elderly can adhere to it.
The interested parties or their relatives can appear in the ground floor of the City Hall where they will be attended by an agent of the Local Pilícia.
There is also the possibility of traveling to the addresses on request to explain the program and collect their contact details.
