The program, subsidized by the SEF, has allowed the participants to obtain a certificate of professionalism that accredits them to work as gardening aids and nurseries
The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, through the Employment and Training Service (SEF), has trained and employed for nine months in the maintenance of green areas of Yecla to a total of 15 unemployed young people of the municipality who were not Studying or working, and were enrolled in the Youth Guarantee program.
This mixed program of employment and training, subsidized with 115,000 euros by the Ministry and co-financed by the European Social Fund, has allowed the participants to receive a certificate of professionalism that credits their skills in gardening.
With this accreditation, these 15 young people now have the opportunity to obtain a labor insertion in the market as agricultural laborers, gardening laborers and nursery workers, or opt for self-employment by creating a gardening company.
SEF's director general, Alejandro Zamora, and Yecla Mayor Marcos Ortuño participated in the closing ceremony of the program and delivered the certificates of professionalism to the participants, after 1,440 hours of training and practices.
Of these, 328 have been training and 1112 of paid employment.
Specifically, the work experience phase of the program has included maintenance of the public spaces of the municipality, green areas of different primary and secondary schools, as well as companies in the sector that have an agreement with the City.
Alejandro Zamora stressed that "these programs that combine training and employment are a useful tool for unemployed young people who, in addition to being trained in a profession, improve their job opportunities and achieve a certificate of professionalism with validity throughout the country."
Projects of the SEF in Yecla
The SEF and the City of Yecla will collaborate in several actions aimed at activating the municipality's employment, as another mixed employment and training program which, with a grant of 222,000 euros, will hire 15 unemployed people aged between 25 and 54 In the specialty of social and health care at home.
In addition, the Consistory will hire eight young people through a program of Local Public Employment for six months to improve buildings and public spaces.
Before the event, Alejandro Zamora and the mayor of Yecla met and analyzed the positive evolution of employment registered by the municipality.
In particular, unemployment has fallen in this town in 569 people in the last twelve months, a decline of 15.66 percent.
With regard to job creation, the number of Social Security affiliates has increased by 139 people in the last year, an increase of 1.15 percent.
