The mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, has led the representation of the City of Yecla in Toledo before the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development of Castilla La Mancha.
A meeting attended by representatives of all political groups present at the Plenum of the Yecla City Council.
The unity among representatives of municipal groups has been one of the positive notes, and is that "right now there is only one voice and that of Yecla and the Yeclans," said Marcos Ortuño, who has described the meeting as positive.
The municipal representatives have transferred to the Deputy Councilor of La Mancha the "great social mobilization that exists in our municipality before what the Yeclans call aggression against our cultural and environmental heritage", informing that it is the vast majority of the population of Yecla and not Of a group of exalted as some have wanted to imply.
In the face of the recriminations and demands of the representatives yeclanos the Deputy Minister of Environment is committed to re-study the project and start new negotiations with the company.
Marcos Ortuño also invited the Environment Minister, together with the technicians of the La Mancha council to visit Monte Arabí and "to know firsthand the heritage that the Yeclans are defending", communicating to the representative of the Castilian government Manchego that "the Yecla City Council will imminently initiate relevant legal actions for Castilla - La Mancha to reconsider this authorization, and so that the Yeclans can defend their heritage.
