On the other hand, the PSOE-Podemos joint motion has also been approved for the creation of a National Interpretation Center for the Marine Reserves of Spain at the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse
The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Yolanda Fernández has demanded in the Plenum of the Assembly the elaboration and urgent approval of the Management Plan for the protection of Mount Arabí de Yecla, the first natural monument recognized in the Region and World Heritage by UNESCO, which makes it one of the most emblematic areas of the Altiplano area
Yolanda Fernández recalled that this motion was filed in the autonomous Parliament in March, following a complaint by ANIDA, given the abandonment of the mountain.
The Council of Government recognized as Natural Monument the Monte Arabí, by Law 4/2007 on Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia.
The Socialist deputy denounces that the regional government "has not moved a finger in the last year", even in the face of a conflict that emerged this summer, due to the intention to install an intensive swine farm 300 meters from the Monte, stopped by the pressure to legal neglect.
"Fortunately the mobilization of Yecla's citizenship, led by the outstanding work of the Save the Arabí Platform and its Shire, has avoided it."
Yolanda Fernández said that "it is necessary that the management plan is urgently drawn up to protect this environment, through a participatory process, with the collaboration between our Community and Manchega, Yecla City Council and social and neighborhood groups."
He also said that it should be avoided "to reoccur chain failures of the institutions as happened with the term of allegations to the intensive farm project, where neither the City of Yecla nor the regional government presented allegations within the timeframe that they would have had effect ".
National Reserve Interpretation Center
Deputy Antonio Guillamón has been the socialist speaker to the joint motion PSOE-We in which they call for the creation of a National Center for Interpretation of the Marine Reserves of Spain in the Lighthouse of Cabo de Palos.
Guillamón emphasized that the PSOE will continue defending that the Lighthouse of Cabo de Palos is a public space;
it has also defended the conditions of work and residence of the workers of the lighthouse;
thirdly, for the socialist deputy it is necessary to value these facilities with a public character through this center of interpretation.
"With this motion we intend that all citizens can enjoy the great biological diversity and seabed we have, especially the marine reserve of Cabo de Palos and the best way is creating such a National Interpretation Center."
Residence El Peñasco
Deputy Consuelo Cano recalled that this residence for people with disabilities, located in Mazarron, has since 2007 hoping to solve their serious accessibility problems to give more use and reach 106 places, which they promised at the time.
"What this residence looks like the story of Perico and the wolf, since in 2012 returned to this Assembly and then intended to sell and cash at a balance with it, something that fortunately did not happen."
Cano claimed its opening with a residential use and overnight stay to give a family respite if necessary to people with disabilities, given the need for places in the area and because these people currently share a small space with the elderly in a building that has been small, despite the increase of some places this year.
"We have these closed public buildings that can be used and reduce the huge waiting lists that exist to access a place of residence. Mazarrón and the surrounding areas need it," he said.
Cano asked: What plans and what planning does this Family Counseling ?, continue to promise, photo-twitter policy and little planning? ".
The PSOE has voted in favor of this initiative, "as we claimed when trying to sell in 2012".
Modification of the Natural Heritage Law
Finally, the deputy Yolanda Fernandez has shown the opposition of the Socialist Parliamentary Group to the request of the Popular Party to support the fight against exotic species and request the Government of the Nation to amend the Law 42/2007 of Natural Heritage and of Biodiversity.
Fernandez recalled that a similar initiative was debated in the Assembly that the PSOE supported.
In addition, in the Congress of Deputies the PP presented, "without consensus and for the sake of other interests," a very extensive proposal on this issue.
Fernandez said that from the PSOE is working on a national initiative "to regulate and to be compatible these economic activities with the conservation of our natural heritage and biodiversity," he concluded.
