Prevention program

One of the main objectives of the program is to facilitate the early detection of the disease in the age group with the highest risk, when it is still possible to apply less aggressive treatments, which results in a better quality of life for the affected women.

The Ministry of Health launched the Breast Cancer Prevention Program in 1994 for women aged 50-64 years and in 2002 extended service coverage to 69 years.
