The Furniture and Wood Technology Center is attending this week in Barcelona the celebration of Advanced Factories, an international fair that brings together more than 10,000 congressmen and professional visitors in search of the latest innovations in machine tools, robotics, industrial automation, as well as as the new technological solutions driven by artificial intelligence, the internet of things, additive manufacturing or industrial cybersecurity.

For many years, CETEM has been the great promoter of technological advances in the habitat sector, having participated in the development of many innovative projects and being a key piece in the transfer of technologies from other sectors, which has meant a technological advance very relevant in furniture manufacturing companies.

However, the industrial sector continues to evolve at an accelerated pace as a result of the digital transformation, and industrial manufacturers have to adapt to this pace immediately in order to meet the demands of the market.

The ultimate goal of the industry is to increase the speed of production, the level of personalization of the product and thereby improve the customer experience.

All this entails increasingly sophisticated processes that must be incorporated into companies in the habitat sector to maintain competitiveness, especially in the field of contract where personalization is the most important.

Despite the fact that advanced factories are already a reality in many sectors, innovation continues to be the key to differentiation.

That is why we must not forget the role played by universities, research institutions and technology centers from the development of new technology and even its implementation in industries.
