Yecla City Council will award an extension of survey research in the current aquifer that supplies drinking water to the population, which could be completed within five or six weeks as indicated by the Mayor of Yecla.
Once it becomes operational this new well, ended the night courts in providing the population with drinking water.
Juan Miguel Benedito says she is then able to expand the current pit and explore the possible connection to other private wells to ensure supply to the population for a long period of time.
Also stated that "all steps are required by law on administrative procedure, so that there is no gap and this implies a series of deadlines that while we accelerate to the maximum, must be met. Once awarded the works and if the Segura basin gives us the appropriate permission, I hope that in five or six weeks the new well into operation and thereafter be removed nightly water cuts. "
The Mayor reported that in recent weeks has remained current level well but has chosen to prevent possible problems at night that the cuts will continue to ensure that the main tank is always full.
He also stressed that "we have detected a public awareness because it has not increased water consumption, although dates are in a very hot, so it probably will not have to extend the hours of power cuts."
