The Public Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer, and the Department of Health of the City of Yecla, have launched the Programme for the Prevention of Breast Cancer, aimed at women aged between 50 and 69.

This health program aims to detect early, and prevent the disease, decrease mortality and improve quality of life of sufferers.

The participation rate in the town of Yecla, during 2008-2009 was 74.9% while the regional participation rate is 69.1%
