Compliance is given to the unanimous agreement of the full February 1, 2010 that recognized his career teaching, research, professional and ongoing collaboration with the city of his birth
The Full Council of Yecla held February 1, 2010 approved unanimously appointed Son of the City of Yecla, posthumously, D.
José Mataix Verdú.
On Saturday 6 November, at 19.00 pm in the Municipal Auditorium will take place the solemn ceremony of appointment of Dr. M; ataix Verdú, giving full effect to the agreement.
The event will be attended by all members of the Municipal Corporation, have been specially invited family and friends honored, former mayors, former council members, representatives of all associations and institutions of Yecla.
It is also expected to have representation of universities and institutions with which D.
José Mataix was associated throughout his career.
And of course a few neighbors want to join this posthumous homage to one of the most distinguished yeclanos
During the event, will be delivered to all attendees at the publication "yeclanización of my life", published by the City of Yecla, which includes a tour of the honored place on his childhood and early youth, describing "that as far yeclana society, from their religious attitudes, social and educational to scientific study, full of interesting observations on the feeding and hygiene of the time "as indicated Miguel and Carmen Ortuño Ortín in the introduction.
Favorite Son, almost 20 years later
Since the year 1991, writer Jose Luis Castillo Puche was honored as Yecla's Favorite Son, no one had received such distinction.

Also underscores its ongoing collaboration with numerous activities that served to prestige and benefit of Yecla, the city of his birth.
The case opened at the time for this appointment, counted as an instructor at the Councillor for Health, Andrés Concha Palao and Secretary to the Chief of Protocol of the City Council, Alfonso García Yagüe, as established in the Municipal Regulation Protocol, Ceremonial, and Honors distinctions.
Many accessions were incorporated associations and municipal corporations (religious, traditional, cultural, sporting, social, health and political) and other institutions like the University of Granada, the University of Murcia and Universidad Catolica San Antonio de Murcia, and as companies involved in professional activity Mataix Verdú.
