A total of 2,500 drivers yeclanos know their level of alcohol before taking the wheel thanks to the self-test that the local police are dealing these days, since last 23 days and until the holidays are over Christmas.
The aim of this unique initiative in the Region, and already held in Yecla a year ago, is to encourage citizens not to drive if they have drunk to avoid accidents, speeding, police said Councilman, Traffic and Public Safety, Juan Miguel Zornoza.
The personal test of single-use local police are dealing in the busiest points of the city traffic with a fact sheet of the campaign, called 'the wheel, self-control', enabling drivers to know their degree of impregnation alcohol before taking the vehicle after New Year's Eve, for example.
The Department of Police, Traffic and Public Safety provides that this action will help to raise awareness of the dangers of mixing alcohol and driving some 7,000 people directly, plus another 11,000 indirectly.
Councilman Zornoza notes that this campaign seeks to ensure that the number of positive breath tests in holding regular police zero. "
In the fact sheet accompanying the test are advised not to drive if they have drunk, "whatever the amount."
The use of the test, the note explains, pursues a guideline, "to check the degree of alcoholic impregnation."
It also recommends "asking for help to the local police in Yecla" if aid.
The fact sheet also points out the importance of using the belt while driving, not to use the phone at the wheel and to respect the pedestrian and disabled spaces.
