The Director General of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo, accompanied by the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, today inaugurated the work of business planning undertaken by the Community in the Plaza of Spain to revive trade in it and in the surrounding areas.
Julio José Lorenzo said: "The aim of this initiative is primarily to facilitate access to business premises in the area for the convenience for citizens to shop in urban municipalities, another initiative of the Ministry Universities, Business and Research to promote the traditional trade, while citizens are recovered for one of the most significant urban Yecla.
The works were conducted in two phases, the first of which was the pedestrian from the center of Yecla, followed by improving the Plaza of Spain, where he was conditioning the floor, created a children's play area is built a stairway, were fitted several seating areas and street lights were installed to increase visibility, all focused on the creation of the Mall Open Yecla.
The layout of the areas near shopping centers of municipalities in the region, which is developing the Community, aims to improve the efficiency, productivity and competitiveness of establishments as well as boost the retail sector to adapt its services to new consumer needs, to enhance the image of quality and professionalism of the local trade.
This initiative, for which the Ministry has earmarked a total investment of 216,671 euros, is part of the Plan to Promote Retail Region, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of local trade, boost sales and attract customers to traditional stores by adapting urban areas close to these businesses, among others.
