Yecla Mayor, Juan Miguel Benedito, accompanied by the Director General of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo opened the refurbishment of the environment Plaza of Spain and the new monument to the constitutional values
Near the Plaza of Spain, where was located the monument to the fallen, had a bad state because of its progressive deterioration.
The action taken has been a significant improvement in one of the most significant urban Yecla, in the commercial center of the city, near Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
It has sought to ennoble the final finish in both its design details and the quality of the materials without interfering with the essence of what exists.
The fundamental idea has been to remove previous coatings, replacing gray granite, similar to placed in the nearby Plaza of Spain, except the monument itself, which is of marble to stand out from the set.
This monument will be dedicated from now to constitutional values, thereby incorporating the unanimous approval by the full Municipal Corporation.
The most significant change has been made in the space between the monument and the Plaza, where it has designed a staircase instead of the previously existing triangular flower bed, which connects the two spaces.
It has also created a small playground.
Have enabled more areas for rest and lamps, so that they are unified with a performance at the Plaza Spain.
The budget execution of the works amounted to 191,623 euros.
The Directorate General of Trade and Crafts has supported this work in the amount of 54,497 euros and the rest has fallen to municipal contribution.
