It has also asked the Highways Agency to undertake the necessary maintenance on the existing elms at the exit to Fuente Alamo, near the Plaza de Toros
The great elm that occupied part of the driveway entrance from the road Villena, a few meters from the rotunda of the slaughterhouse, was cut last Thursday 3 February.
The presence of this exemplary sick beyond recovery and posed a safety hazard to vehicular traffic and pedestrians.
The work, which has been overseen by the environmental agent attached to the Altiplano, was authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, at the request of the Department of Public Services.
This tree was pruned in late 2008 to see if it could recover.
Two years later, after verifying that it could not sprout and end up falling to the pavement, it was decided to remove it.
The Council also asked the Highways Agency to carry out, also the necessary maintenance on the existing elm trees on the road to Fuente Alamo located in the stretch of Liberty Avenue between the Plaza de Toros Round the roundabout with the North.
