The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Land and Housing, has completed the works to improve pedestrian mobility in the town of Yecla.
In total, we have conducted seven actions to facilitate the accessibility to public buildings such as mobility in the urban environment of the locality, thereby enhancing security and autonomy of the elderly and disabled citizens.
The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, said the aim of these projects "is to allow mobility for all residents with comfort and security for the urban fabric of Yecla.
Navarro added that the improvements "will also facilitate public access to municipal facilities of the City."
The actions undertaken, which have received funding of 54,167 euros autonomic, fall under the Suppression Program and Town Planning Architectural Barriers.
Through these grants, the regional government facilitates mobility in buildings and public spaces.
This work has included improving accessibility to the Town Hall, down the street Ercilla, and six other works distributed on the streets around San Luis and Ratchet, which consisted in the implementation of pedestrian fords to save the step between sidewalks and roadway.
As indicated by the director general, the purpose of this line of support of the Regional Government "is to remove architectural barriers in the municipalities of the Region, to provide a higher quality of life for citizens, especially those with mobility reduced. "
Other improvements in the municipality
Prior to this intervention, the Ministry subsidized other works to improve accessibility in the town of Yecla, with a total investment of 300,000 euros.
This is the case for the implementation of new sidewalks in the street Iberia flush with the roadway to avoid slopes, filling the streets of San Nicolas with special non-slip floor, or 24 fords pedestrian street made Hernán Cortés, and Ram Hospital.
