The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine and the Mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito have presided over the ceremony of laying the first stone of the new Secondary School in Yecla.
The new teaching center that also will include adult education, will run on a plot of 10,000 square meters next to the Mental Health Center, in the hamlet of Las Herratillas.
The building is divided into three modules, which will house 25 classrooms.
In total, the floor area added more than 4,500 square meters.
The contract award amount of work has amounted to 3,523,362 euros.
Is scheduled to become operational to accommodate students during 2012-2013.
In the first of the three pavilions will be located on the ground floor, the school administration, and spaces for teachers, parents associations and student guidance office, etc., next to the multipurpose room and a large porch prepared to accept, in future, high school classrooms.
On the first floor of the pavilion there will be twelve classrooms.
The second pavilion is accessible from the first through a covered walkway with glass walls.
It will build 13 classrooms, including two computers, a plastic and visual classroom, a classroom technology workshop and four classrooms for adults, and 12 seminar rooms, two of them for adults, in addition to the library, cafeteria and other non-teaching spaces, as a department store.
The adult education area is accessed by a separate entrance and is separated from the rest by some large doors, even in the evenings, when not used for secondary education, be opened to devote more classes to adults.
The last flag, which is also accessed by a covered walkway, but in this case is not glass, is mainly conditioned gym and locker rooms.
Next to it is building two outdoor sports courts.
